ED IN '08

NH Political Directors take Note. There is a new grassroots game in town. And, it's seriously smart.

Strong American Schools, a nonpartisan public awareness and action campaign aimed at elevating education to the top of the list of our nation's priorities, today opened a campaign office in downtown Manchester.

ED in '08 is jumping feet first into the 2008 (or '07) New Hampshire Primary. They will also be competing in several other states around the country.

Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, Super Inventor (and NH resident) Dean Kamen and former NH Governor Jeanne Shaheen all sit on the Strong American Schools New Hampshire Advisory Board (along with several other prominent NH residents) and spoke (passionately) at the office opening.

The campaign is funded by a contribution from the Gates Foundation and the Broad Foundation.

It's for the children. Really.

Crib Note: Presidential hopefuls will want ED IN '08 to say nice things about their candidacy. Therefore, NH Political Directors should be on the horn with Strong American Schools making nice right now.

Because no campaign wants to be the odd campaign out when it comes to our children's future.

Good policy. Good politics. Everybody wins.

New Hampshire's Army Of Cookie Moms Will Swarm Upcoming Debates

GreenMountainPolitics1 has favored candidates.

We also have favored issues.

Which means we're a lot like the MSM, but we just happen to be upfront about our biases.

Priorities NH is a Granite State grassroots organization that hopes to use the NH Primary to bring awareness to America's "upside down spending priorities".

Crib Note: Priorities NH is taking dead aim at the outrageous percentage of our tax dollars spent on the defense budget while other federal programs face deep budget cuts.

GreenMountainPolitics1 has their back. All day.

And no, this doesn't make us soft on the War on Terror nor does it mean that we don't understand realpolitik.

What it means is that we understand the pitfalls of a standing army and a out of control military industrial complex.

So we look forward to seeing the Priorities NH team outside the debate hall on Sunday and Tuesday.

May we suggest (humbly) that the MSM spend a little time with their Cookie Mom. Maybe even grab one of their "budget pens". Or take a ride on their bus.

You might even learn something.

While we do not agree with everything that PrioritiesNH.org prints, we most certainly agree with their basic goal. We hope that we see them on the Trail a whole bunch this cycle. At both Republican and Democratic events.

Crib Note: Our belief in that shared goal is the reason why we want to put our head through 4 inches of plate glass window when presidential candidates start talking about the need to "rebuild our military".

And yes, we are aware that there is a "global war on terror going on."

But does anyone remember this?
