Or Perhaps New Hampshire Campaigns Just Don't Like Being Shaken Down?

This letter just hit our email box (click on the picture to make it larger).

It was delivered by snail mail to every GOP Presidential NH campaign office except for Paul, Thompson and Giuliani's.

Manchester GOP Chairman Jerry "Machine Gun" Thibodeau is pissy because most Presidential campaigns passed on paying $500 bucks to set up a booth at a recent Manchester GOP event where exactly 0% of the attendees were "undecided".

And who can blame the campaigns?

Well, Jerry Thibodeau is.

While claiming that he had "550 attendees".

When everyone knows that he really had less than 100.

With 0% undecided.

Because In The Dictionary Under "Liberal Media Bias" It Says "See Us"

Here comes a train wreck!

There is really nothing else to say.

Subject: Manchester Republican Committee to Host Machine Gun Event

The Manchester Republican Committee (MRC) will hold its first Annual Machine Gun Shoot fundraiser on Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The public is invited.

The MRC's Machine Gun Shoot is an ideal event for people whose only exposure to machine guns is what they see on the news, television shows, and movies. This event presents both a unique opportunity and an educational experience where attendees can learn about the machine guns that our heros and loved ones carried and depended upon in World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama and the Persian Gulf.

Event-goers may observe machine guns being fired, or they may actually fire these machine guns themselves in a safe, controlled, objective enviornment. The MRC extends an invitation to anyone having an open mind and a passing curiosity. The MRC Machine Gun Shoot is about presenting a forum where average people may obtain some small relevant context to what they might view on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, etc. providing historical analysis of weapons of armed conflict.

While the MRC invited the respective presidential candidates, this event is not about the presidential primary or any particular candidate presently running for political office. This event is about offering the citizens of the Granite State a unique experience. This Machine Gun Shoot event reaffirms the MRC's commitment to the Second Amendment, the New Hampshire State Constitution, and the unwavering commitment to liberty.

For more information contact Jerry Thibodeau, MRC Chairman, at (xxx) xxx-xxxx.

Sincerely,

Rick Olson

The Manchester GOP Has Lost Its Goddamn Mind

The Manchester Republican Party is planning a August 5th party fundraiser at the Pelham, New Hampshire firing range.

Party faithful will get to blast away with Uzis, M-16 rifles and other automatic weapons.

Jerry Thibodeau, the committee chairman, told the Union Leader newspaper, "The thought just struck me one day: a machine gun shoot. What the heck?"

A machine gun shoot?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

Calling all Independents! Come back into the Republican fold and fire a automatic weapon in Pelham!

Just please try and disregard the Democratic operatives armed with telephoto lenses whose '08 general election direct mail campaigns you will make. Also, please disregard the bad earned media and their "liberal bias".

Snark.

Noted: GreenMountainPolitics1 has been bow hunting. And we like it. This isn't a anti-Second Amendment post.

What we are saying is that the Manchester GOP is politically tone deaf. Damaging the candidacies of Mayor Guinta and, to a lesser extent, Senator Sununu.

Noted: There is a reason that all(!) the GOP Presidential candidates turned down the Manchester Republican's invitation to come out and shoot guns.

We expect that Guinta and Sununu are probably on the phone with Jerry Thibodeau right now. Sorting it all out.
