"The Truth Is The Truth Is The Truth"

The original First First has got some real fight.

And, she is absolutely right.

We certainly know political reporters who obsess about whether their latest Obama story will tag them (and bag them) as racist. Just as there are political reporters who obsess that their latest Hillary Clinton story will tag them (and bag them) as sexist.

And we are quite sure that both Team Obama and Team Clinton will sometimes use that to their advantage (and how PC is that?).

For us it's easy. Equal protection under the law means that you stand up there and take your (fair) lumps along with everyone else. And we don't care if you're white, black, green, blue, male, female or something in-between.

Barack Obama is a black man. That has pluses and minuses in a political arena. Talking about those pluses and minuses does not make you a racist. So get over it.

Hillary Clinton is a white female. That has pluses and minuses in a political arena. Talking about those pluses and minuses does not make you sexist. So get over it.

Ms. Ferraro didn't say anything that we haven't heard other smart, well traveled, interested and interesting people of all colors and both sexes say to us in the past (and it's worth noting that Ms. Ferraro called the newspaper back to expand on her original remarks).

Are there racists and sexists in the Democratic Party? Of course there are.

Are there racists and sexists in the Republican Party? Of course there are.

And, when you see it (and you'll know it when you see it) you call it out and drop a 500 pound shame hammer on them.

But good Lord, we see stuff like this and this and we have to wonder when did the PC Police grab the political process by the throat and start to shake?

To everyone's detriment.
