Sweep?

We don't go much for public "polls". Especially polls taken 8(ish) months before a real primary vote is even cast.

So news that Senator McCain is "Back Up!" and "Leading Again!" in polls taken in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina makes interesting cocktail conversation but not much else.

At no time did we consider McCain "down" in New Hampshire. So we have trouble mustering excitement that he is "Back-Up!".

We've always said that the 50-state political machine built by Weaver and Dennehy to "put the Senator in a position to win" is extraordinary.

Of course "anything can happen" (duh!) but McCain's campaign is built for distance. And it's going to strip the bark off of whatever stands in the Senator's way.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Especially when you sweep Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
