Thompson Spokesman Todd Harris "Clarifies" Matalin's Comments

Honestly, we haven't had this much fun in a very long while.

Because Fred Thompson's clusterf*ck of a campaign "launch" just keeps on keeping on.

Much to our delight.

This past Sunday, Thompson adviser Mary Matalin explained why Fred Thompson was skipping the upcoming New Hampshire GOP debate for the Jay Leno show.

If Matalin's "stick-in-New Hampshire's-eye" wasn't sharp or clear enough, Thompson spokesman Todd Harris jumped in today with a follow-up clarification:

In the meantime, Harris said, “it makes a lot of sense” for Thompson to appear on the Leno show instead of the GOP debate because the candidate will reach “everyday normal Americans who don’t live in the 202 area code.”
"Everyday normal Americans who don't live in the 202 area code".

But we thought New Hampshire's area code was 603?

Does Todd Harris think that New Hampshire voters aren't going to watch a New Hampshire debate? Or is he lumping Granite State voters into the same crowd as the 202 beltway crew? Or is Harris "just not sure what he's sure of"?

Keep on keeping on.

We're here all fall.
